Big Ideas Realized

Jeff Koons/Intuitive Machines - Moon Phases is a sculpture consisting of 125 mirrored stainless steel lunar relief maps that were landed on the Moon as a permanent museum. Super-Releaser was brought in to design, prototype, fabricate, and finish the moons within a strict weight limit and to meet Jeff's exacting standards for detail.

MIT Media Lab/SeedLabs - The MicroPET was designed to study enzymatic plastic recycling in space. Working from a system plan provided by MIT, Super-Releaser designed the system, bench-tested the hardware, and built the payload, which was successfully tested on the International Space Station.

Bond - Robotic handwriting became so popular with its customers that Bond hired Super-Releaser to design a custom plotter to scale production and meet growing demand. Within two years they were producing 1000+ notes per day on Super-Releaser's plotters and the startup was acquired by Newell Brands

O'Reilly - Soft robotics is an exciting emerging field, and O'Reilly approached Super-Releaser to write the first book on the topic for a general audience. We produced over a dozen accessible projects for experimenting with soft robotics using basic shop equipment, along with guides on mechanical design, material selection, and real world applications.

NASA/Final Frontier Design - We were contracted to design, build, and test a soft robotic interface between NASA's EVA space suit and Final Frontier Design's innovative mechanical counterpressure glove. We developed a segmented-core mold to create a seamless, fiber-reinforced silicone skin that formed an airtight seal around the astronaut's arm, connecting the two space suit components.

USPS/McCann - The Intelligent Item Receptacle (US11974687B2) is a system Super-Releaser designed to track the type and frequency of stamps right as they're put in the iconic blue USPS post box. It uses two optical recognition systems and a custom mail chute to measure the speed, angle, and position of letters as they pass through the box, ensuring an ideal photo for image recognition.
