Here is the result of our recent experiments with gripping actuators. This robotic gripper features three soft actuators arranged much like the talons a falcon's foot (biologists call this arrangement anisodactyl). This gripper can pick up an amazing variety of objects with only a few psi of pressure. Additionally, drawing from preliminary tests, it's also very delicate and able to handle fragile objects.
We're excited to add these mechanisms and the methods for prototyping them to our toolbox of solutions for solving problems in a soft robotics framework.
